All you need is to check in at Clarion Hotel President and find the best of Chennai City just outside the Hotel’s front door.

The Hotel is just a few minutes away from the World’s second longest urban beach-The Marina Beach.

This 300m wide stretch is dotted with statues of several luminaries along the promenade. And yes, if you want a sweeping view of all things blue, try the Hotel’s terrace.

Discover the City’s colonial past. Fort St.George, the first major British settlement in India with its solid walls and sturdy gates is just a few kilometres away.

Worship cricket? Here’s a must-see destination. The M. A. Chidambaram Stadium or Chepauk Cricket Stadium (formerly known as the Madras Cricket Club Ground) is just 6 minutes away from the Hotel. Established in 1916, it is the oldest continuously used cricket stadium in the country. The home ground of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Team and the Indian Premier League Team-the Chennai Super Kings, Chepauk hosted its first Test Match on 10 February 1934 and the first ever Ranji Trophy Match in 1936. The Stadium is where the Indian Cricket Team tasted its first ever Test victory in 1952 against England. The 1986 India-Australia Match held here was the second ever Tied Test in the history of the game. This stadium has hosted 7 One Day International Matches across three World Cups.

Parry’ is another interesting neighbourhood that’s worth exploring. Named after Thomas Parry, a Welsh merchant who set up the EID Parry Company here in 1787, it is home to Anderson Church, one of the oldest in the region dating back to 1845 and the famous Kalikambal Temple, which counts King Chatrapathi Shivaji among its visitors.

That’s not all. A small stroll will take you to Citi Centre – a hip and happening Mall with fashion stores, eateries, Inox theatre and more. Wander the streets and you are sure to stumble upon fashion hubs, restaurants, shopping centres, and places of worship. The Hotel makes a perfect halt if you plan to go wedding shopping. Fashion boutiques to wedding silks and jewellery, everything is just a few kilometres away. The location is also well connected and provides easy access to the vital heartbeats in the City.

And there’s a bit of Trivia too. Clarion Hotel President is the City’s second tallest building- just 2.2 meters shorter than The Regional Office of Life Insurance Corporation of India!
